Graduation Weekend - It's Finally Here!

Elizabeth's graduation from Susquehanna University.  Oh, happy day!

This past weekend our youngest child graduated from college and it was a huge weekend for our family. Honestly, I have been so excited about this ceremony for so long that I had a hard time concentrating on anything else!

Over the years my husband and I have set many goals for our family in various areas but one of the 5 main goals we had was to see that each of our 4 children received college degrees.  Well, this weekend, we met that goal and I can't tell you how happy we both are.  Our oldest son Matthew was here but his wife and son were not able to make it as she is expecting their second child.  Our other daughter was also able to travel here for this special weekend but our other son, his wife and their son were not able to make it. We were so sad that they weren't here with us but we were able to chat with them on FaceTime and enjoy some special time with them as well.  Here are just a few pictures from our fun weekend.
Pancakes on Saturday morning - Yum!

         Hanging out at the bookstore.

Visiting local antique shops - sometimes they aren't antiques as much as they are items that are not really desired anymore!

Spending time with our sweet kids driving around beautiful Pennsylvania and just talking.

Of course, a stop here is a given in any town.

The Bucknell University Bookstore - see the only escalators in Lewisburg at the bottom of the picture?

A Saturday afternoon walk in downtown Lewisburg, PA.

A stop at Purity Candy. I must admit that the huge bag of chocolate covered pretzels my son bought were gone by that evening.  They were so good.

Country Cupboard - a local craft/Americana/bakery/candy store/restaurant that is a popular place to visit.

Game night - just so you all know, I WON!

Facetimeing with the grandkids.

Graduation Day!

Graduation day was beautiful!  It had been cold and rainy for the week leading up to the big day but Sunday, May 11, 2014 was absolutely perfect.

Waiting her turn.

It's finally time!

Hugs from Mom and Dad

and from a proud brother.

A sweet send off from the president of the university.

These are the days I live for.

Another milestone met and another memory made.  I love these kids and the time that I have been honored to spend with them and I am so proud that they have managed to live in the world but not of the world. They have maintained their standards and never forgotten who they are and where they came from.  Kind, considerate, honest, giving, smart and trying to live Christ-like lives.  As parents, we couldn't ask for any more than this.
